How to use rmvbg

Remove a background

Get a transparent PNG at full resolution, free.

  1. Open rmvbg.xyz and drop, choose, paste (Ctrl+V) or link a photo.
  2. Wait a few seconds — the first visit downloads the AI model once, later visits are faster.
  3. Check the edges with the before/after slider.
  4. Pick transparent, white, a colour or a photo background, then Download. Several photos? Download all as a ZIP.

Make marketplace product photos

White, square images sized for Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Etsy and Daraz.

  1. Open Product photos and drop all your shots.
  2. Choose a preset (Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Etsy, Daraz or Instagram/Facebook) or set your own size.
  3. Adjust padding, position and background, then save it as a preset for next time.
  4. Download JPG or PNG; the size is written in each file name.

Right size, white background and a 4×6 print sheet.

  1. Open Passport photo and drop a straight-on photo.
  2. Pick the size for your country and line your head up with the guides.
  3. Download a single photo or the 4×6 sheet for printing.

  1. Open the extension page and follow the install steps.
  2. Click the puzzle icon in Chrome and pin rmvbg so it is always one click away.

Remove a background from any photo on the web

Right-click → rmvbg.

  1. Right-click any photo on a web page.
  2. Choose the rmvbg option — the photo opens on rmvbg.xyz and is cut out.
  3. Or open the rmvbg menu, pick photos on the page and send them to Product photos together.

Visible area, selected area or the full page.

  1. Click the rmvbg icon and choose Visible, Area or Full page.
  2. In the editor add arrows, boxes, highlighter, text, numbered steps, blur or crop.
  3. Download, copy, add a frame or mockup, or save as PDF.

Hide private details automatically

Emails, phone numbers, addresses, card numbers and keys.

  1. Open the rmvbg menu and switch on “Auto-blur private info”.
  2. Take your screenshot — private details are covered before capture.
  3. Use the Blur tool in the editor for anything else, and always check before sharing.

Tab, window or whole screen, with camera and mic.

  1. Open the rmvbg menu and choose Record.
  2. Pick the shape (16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5), camera and microphone.
  3. Press M while recording to mark chapters; stop when you are done.
  4. Edit in Studio, download, or save to your account to share.

Auto edit a recording in one click

Blur private info, zoom, cut pauses, add subtitles, titles and an end card.

  1. Open a recording from Recordings.
  2. Press “Auto edit now”. Open the options first if you want to untick a step.
  3. Check each tab — every blur, zoom and cut can be moved or removed — then Save.

Private links that you can switch off or set to expire.

  1. Open the recording and press Share.
  2. Choose who can view, whether comments are on and when the link expires.
  3. Viewers sign in to leave timed comments; you can switch the link off any time.

  1. Press Log in, then create an account with your email and a password.
  2. Confirm your email from the message we send you.

Common questions

Is rmvbg free?

Yes. Background removal, product photos, passport photos, screenshots and the extension are free. Pro adds recording and Studio editing.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos are cut out on your own device. Only things you choose to save or share are stored in your account.

The remover is slow the first time — why?

The first visit downloads the AI model to your browser. After that it is stored and much faster.

How do I delete my data?

Delete items from your dashboard, or write to us from the Contact page and we will remove your account.
